Kassi’s Story

I grew up in a very close knit family.  My parents have now been married for over 27 years.  Daryn, my older brother, is 24.  I am now 22 (I’ll be 23 in March).  I have been to a few different types of schools growing up, from home-school, to private school, and ended up in a public high school.  I graduated from Battle Ground High School in 2006.  Growing up I was very involved in sports, Sunday school, youth group, and some school clubs.  In high school I stayed more involved with my youth group, and then worked at Living Hope Church from the age of 15 until I was 20.  In April of 2006 I met Josh through a family friend, and we began dating in July.  We were married two years later on July 11, 2008.  Our life together has been a huge learning experience, but I love everything about married life.  Even more than that, I love our God.  Growing closer to God as a couple has been interesting, at times very challenging, but overall has taught me tons about myself and how I think as a person.

One life changing moment for me was when I went to Mexico with my high school youth group.  Our team went to Tijuana with AMOR Ministries.  We took our spring break and built a house for a family who had lost theirs to a sink-hole.  The opportunity to give something so meaningful to a family we didn’t know was an awesome blessing.  I learned then that I love to reach out to others and help them, the funny thing is that my name means just that.

Josh’s Story:

Before I get started, I want to say Praise God and all thanks to him for this temporary life that he’s blessed me with. It is humbling and also an honor to serve this amazing God who has blessed me so much and has given everything for me!

Now a little bit about me.. My full name is Joshua Brandon Palmer, I am 27 years established, and have lived in SW Washington my entire life. I graduated from Washougal High School in 2001 and after graduation started working right away. My family, like Kassi’s, is very close and crazy passionate about others. I have a few parents so I will list them all! My Dad’s name is Cecil and my Mom’s name is Cheryl. I also have two Stepmoms by the names of Tina and Leslie. I have a grand total of seven siblings; three brothers and four sisters whom I love very much! I met my wife Kassi back in 2006 when I re-dedicated my life to God and was attending and working at Living Hope Church in Vancouver, WA. We’ve been married for 2+ years now and i’ve enjoyed every minute of it. It’s been an amazing blessing to walk through the tough and easy stuff with my wife, the person Gods given me as a life partner and best friend. He has and is growing us daily, and continues to strike the path in our everyday walk of life.

It wasn’t until this year that I really felt a yearning or tugging on my soul from God to do something for him and his kingdom. He laid a YWAM DTS and missions trip on both of our hearts and we’ve been actively pursuing this since we felt the calling. I personally have never been on a missions trip in my life but am looking forward to God growing and stretching me spiritually and physically as a Husband and Man of God.  I am so excited to passionately pursue our God who is crazy-in-love with each and every one of us and share what it is he’s done in my life.
